Peaceful
rural setting
cows nearby
slowly grazing
sleeping loved ones
always remembered.

Today I am sad. Its twelve years since my beloved father passed away. Not a day goes by that I am not reminded of him. He left his family a wonderful legacy. He was, in our opinion, everything a man should be. He was a very patient and understanding husband, a wonderful loving father, and a dutiful son and brother. He had a great sense of humour and a beautiful tenor voice. He sang in the church choir and loved classical music and opera. I miss him so much. Love you Daddy !

I have plenty of gorgeous "modern" cookbooks with full page glossy pics but thought I would try some "vintage" recipes for a change. Things we ate when I was growing up. This one is from an old Country Womens Association cookbook. They taste as yummy as they look too !

Well the sense of national pride is still with us today after such a successful Commonwealth Games. We Melbournians think we did a pretty good job at hosting but we really excelled ourselves with the weather. Not known for our consistency, I think its fair to say that the past two weeks have been nothing short of superb with warm and sunny days with blue skies. No sooner are the games finished but today was cloudy and overcast all day! Beautiful one day....4 seasons...the next !!! Typical Melbourne !

I had a good day today. The ironing basket had been piling up so high that I couldnt ignore it any longer so I set up in front of TV and watched a movie I had taped ages ago "Where angels fear to tread" is an adaptation of E.M.Forsters novel. It was filmed in Tuscany and I was so enthralled by it, I managed to finish almost all of the basket with no effort at all. Cant resist a good costume drama...!!
